Eid Al Fitr 2025 will be celebrated in Hong Kong on March 31, 2025. The Board of Trustees has officially announced this date, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of festivities.

Eid Al Fitr is a significant occasion for the Muslim community, characterized by prayers, feasting, and communal gatherings. Families and friends come together to celebrate the conclusion of a month of fasting and reflection.

Announcement from the Board of Trustees:

The moon sighting committee comprising of Ulema Kiraam and Trustees met at Kowloon Masjid & Islamic Centre on Sunday, 30 March 2025, after Maghrib prayer to sight the moon of Shawwal and decide about the date of Eid-ul-Fitr Prayer.

Moon sighting teams were sent to different locations in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon to sight the moon, but no sighting of the moon was recorded, and no evidence was received due to cloudy weather.

The committee also referred to the decision of moon sighting from nearby countries.

After a detailed discussion, the committee unanimously decided that:

1st Day of Shawwal and Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed in Hong Kong on Monday, 31 March 2025.
