Hong Kong, 24th June 2023 – The Muslim community in Hong Kong eagerly awaits the arrival of Eid Al Adha. This year, Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on Thursday, 29th June 2023 in Hong Kong.
The Incorporated Trustees of The Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong, also known as the Trustees, announced on 19 June 2023, that Eid Al Adha will commence on 29 June 2023 as the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah commenced on 20 June 2023. The five official mosques in Hong Kong, namely Kowloon Masjid, Ammar Masjid, Jamia Masjid, Chai Wan Masjid, and Stanley Masjid, have announced the prayer times for Eid Al Adha. Worshippers are encouraged to attend the mosque closest to their location to participate in the congregational prayer on the blessed day. The prayer times are attached below for your reference.
To facilitate the observance of this religious occasion, the Muslim Council of Hong Kong has provided a special leave letter for students and working individuals. The letter is both in English and Chinese, and can be presented to schools and workplaces, requesting time off to celebrate Eid Al Adha. The letter is attached below for your reference.
