The official statement from the Board of Trustees regarding Eid Ul Adha 2024 and Dhul Hijjah is as follows:

The moon sighting committee did not receive any evidence of moon sighting in Hong Kong for the sighting of Moon for Zul Hijjah / Eid-ul-Adha 1445 Hijri/2024 due to heavy rain and cloudy weather.

As per the decision of Ulema-e-Kiram to follow the nearest Islamic country, the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong (Board of Trustees) referred to the decision of moon sighting in Malaysia by JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) for the sighting of Moon for Zul Hijjah / Eid ul Adha 1445 Hijri/2024.

The Board of Trustees has decided to follow the decision made by JAKIM as mentioned below:

1st of Zul Hijjah will be on Saturday, 8 June 2024
Eid ul Adha will be celebrated on Monday, 17 June 2024.
