The Muslim Council of Hong Kong has confirmed the sighting of the moon, signaling the start of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. The moon will be sighted on 7 June 2024. If the moon is sighted, Dhu al-Hijjah will begin on Sunday, June 8, 2024. If not, it will start on Monday, June 9, 2024.
This would mean Eid Ul Adha will be celebrated on either Monday, June 17, 2024, or Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Please note that the information has been confirmed by Adeel Malik, Chairman of the Muslim Council of Hong Kong, after consulting Mufti Mohammad Arshad. The official announcement from the Board of Trustees is pending, and this article will be updated once the official announcement is made.
